The short answerMeasure the longest thing you will park, nose to tail, including anything you tow behind it, then add at least two feet so you can walk around it. Most of the RV bays we build run 74 to 86 feet deep, and the deepest we have built is 100 feet, at 3865 Yucca Way.
Start with your longest rig
Depth is set by the single longest thing that has to fit in one straight line. In Lake Havasu that is usually a boat on its trailer, a toy hauler, or a motorhome. Here are typical lengths for what our buyers park:
| What you park | Typical length |
|---|---|
| Side-by-side | about 13 ft |
| Sand rail | about 15 ft |
| Jeep or rock crawler | about 16 ft |
| Wave runner on a trailer | about 16 ft |
| Classic car | about 17 to 19 ft |
| Pickup truck | about 21 ft |
| Ski or fishing boat on a trailer | about 24 ft |
| Wake or surf boat on a trailer | about 28 ft |
| Pontoon on a trailer | about 30 ft |
| Toy hauler (trailer only) | about 36 ft |
| Class A motorhome | about 42 ft |
Typical lengths only. Models vary a lot; measure yours bumper to bumper, trailer tongue included.
Add the tow, then add room to walk
If you want to pull straight in without unhooking, measure the whole combination: truck plus trailer, or motorhome plus the Jeep behind it. Then add at least two feet behind it so you can walk around the back and close the door. If you want a workbench, a freezer or shelving at the end of the bay, add that depth too.
Plan for what you will own next
Almost nobody buys less stuff after they move to Havasu. The boat gets bigger, a side-by-side turns into two, and the kids want wave runners. Our motto is the honest version of this: it’s never enough garage. If the lot allows it, build the bay deeper than today’s rig.
Do not forget height and width
Depth gets all the attention, but the door is what stops most rigs. We put 14-foot-tall doors on our RV bays. At 111 Highland Meadows in Williams the RV door is 13’6” tall and 14’ wide, with 16 feet of clear height inside. Width matters if you want two rigs side by side: the double bay at 6269 Avienda De Las Colinas is 34 feet wide, and the bay at 6873 Avienda De Los Foothills is 25 feet wide.

Check the lot before you fall in love with a number
A 90-foot bay needs a lot that can hold it, plus room to swing a trailer into it. Setbacks, slope, HOA design rules and the city’s plan review all shape how deep you can go. We walk the lot first and tell you plainly what fits before anyone draws plans.

Questions people ask
Is a 50-foot RV garage deep enough?
It depends on your longest rig. A 42-foot motorhome fits with room to walk around it, but a motorhome towing a Jeep, or a truck pulling a toy hauler, usually needs 60 feet or more. Measure the whole combination and add at least two feet.
How tall should an RV garage door be?
We use 14-foot-tall doors on our RV bays, which clears most motorhomes and toy haulers with roof equipment. Check your rig's height, including the air conditioner and antennas, before you settle on a door.
What is the deepest RV garage Moran AZ Homes has built?
100 feet, at 3865 Yucca Way in Lake Havasu City, completed in 2021. The deepest bay we have for sale today is 86 feet, at 6295 Avienda De Las Colinas.
Can I add an RV garage to the home I already own?
Often, yes. It depends on the lot, setbacks and HOA rules. We build RV garage additions in Lake Havasu City and Williams and will walk the lot with you first.
